The Role
The Regional Business Development Ambassador is a field-based role responsible for growing Talize and Recycling Rewards’ donation ecosystem across a defined region of five or more stores. These individual merges community engagement, partnership development, and operational strategy to increase donation volumes, enhance visibility, and optimize donation operations across the territory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Departmental Duties
- Regional donation growth strategy across 5+ stores.
- Leadership and direct performance improvement for bottom two donation-generating stores.
- Development and expansion of bin placements and donation centres.
- Relationship management with municipalities, landlords, charities, and local partners
- Coordination with Operations, Procurement, and Fleet teams for inventory alignment
- Oversight of daily donation operations in collaboration with store managers
- Weekly store check-ins and monthly regional calls to drive performance.
- Outreach planning using AI-powered tools and dashboards
- Monitoring and optimizing bin and trailer placements
- Accurate record-keeping of donation activities, partnerships, and engagements
Other Duties
- Ensure consistent regional donation supply through effective route planning and timely collections.
- Maintain logistics stability by coordinating bin servicing, trailer utilization, and route efficiency.
- Enhance community presence by representing the company professionally and promoting donation awareness.
- Build and strengthen relationships with local partners to support ESG and donation initiatives.
- Improve donor experience by providing courteous, reliable service and addressing concerns promptly.
- Support cost reduction goals through efficient freight management and optimized bin placement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achieve and surpass quarterly bin placement targets.
- Achieve and surpass quarterly donation volume goals.
- Secure new partner leads and site acquisitions weekly.
- Maintain partner satisfaction scores of 90% or higher.
- Increase ROI per bin location through improved route and placement efficiency.
- Ensure timely service resolution and follow-up on reported issues.

Education, Experience and Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Community Outreach, Sales, or Partnership Development.
- Must have valid driver’s license with clean records.
- Strong leadership with multi-site coordination experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in recycling, thrift, or donation-based retail is an asset.
- Community engagement proficiency is preferred.
- Familiarity with field sales or operational logistics is a nice to have.
- Knowledge of AI-based targeting or outreach tool is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to drive frequently across a multi-city region (valid driver’s license required)
- Capable of conducting on-site assessments at donation bins, trailers, and donation centres—including walking, standing, and light lifting (up to 30 lbs)
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing bin inspections or meeting with local stakeholders
- Occasional lifting, reaching, bending, and walking in field settings and warehouse-style donation centres
- Work is split between field visits (including retail store locations, outdoor donation bin sites, and community partner locations), home office, and on-site-office/in-store presence
- Exposure to donation storage environments, which may include dust, varying temperatures, and frequent movement of goods
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and community event days, to accommodate partner schedules and operational needs
- Regular interaction with store managers, community organizations, municipalities, and members of the public
- The role requires the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments and manage priorities across diverse field conditions
