The Web & Systems Integration Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of IGNITE’s web properties and the integrations that connect these platforms to internal systems and cloud services. This role ensures optimal website performance, security, accessibility, and user experience, while also enabling seamless data and process flows between IGNITE’s digital tools.

Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and enhancing websites and related applications, adhering to industry standards for usability and AODA/WCAG accessibility. In addition, the role oversees the configuration and management of integrations (such as APIs, automation workflows, and connectors) and manages databases and cloud services to support scalability, data integrity, and reliable integration with web applications.

The Web & Systems Integration Manager works closely with stakeholders to implement front-end and back-end functionalities, manage hosting environments, and ensure secure, reliable connectivity between web platforms, databases, and cloud services. This position plays a key role in advancing IGNITE’s digital ecosystem by combining strong web development expertise with technical integration capabilities. The position manages one (1) part-time student staff.

What you can expect in the Web & Systems Integration Manager Role at IGNITE:

SYSTEMS INTEGRATION & AUTOMATION

·      Configure and manage integrations between IGNITE’s web platforms and internal systems using APIs, connectors, and automation workflows.

·      Utilize Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps) to enable secure, reliable data flows and process automation.

·      Integrate various internal systems and data sources into centralized solutions to support analytics and operational efficiency.

·      Monitor and troubleshoot integration performance, ensuring scalability, security compliance, and alignment with organizational standards.

·      Collaborate with internal teams to identify integration requirements and implement solutions that improve data consistency and usability.

DATABASE & CLOUD SERVICES

·      Manage and configure cloud services and databases (e.g., Azure SQL) to support integrations and ensure data integrity.

·      Implement changes in database operations, structure, and security to keep data accurate, secure, and readily available.

·      Apply security best practices for data storage, retention, continuity planning, and disaster recovery, including incident management for data loss or security breaches.

·      Utilize Azure Data Factory to automate data movement, quality assurance, and alignment across internal systems and services.

·      Monitor database performance through regular checks, updates, and optimizations; recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.

·      Provide training and support to internal users on accessing and properly using organizational data assets.

WEB PLATFORM MANAGEMENT & CONTENT UPDATES

·      Coordinate and execute content updates and publishing workflows, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.

·      Deploy new features and integrations that impact the website, gathering requirements and prioritizing enhancements with stakeholders.

·      Conduct quality assurance testing for functionality, compatibility, and performance across devices and browsers, focusing on changes that improve user experience and system interoperability.

·      Ensure IGNITE’s websites and other digital assets adhere to industry standards for accessibility (AODA/WCAG), security, and user experience.

·      Implement and maintain security measures such as SSL certificates, firewalls, and vulnerability scans.

·      Monitor website performance metrics (uptime, load times, user experience) and identify opportunities for optimization.

·      Apply web best practices for responsive design, usability, and accessibility without heavy emphasis on custom development.

WEB DEVELOPMENT

·      Oversee front-end enhancements and CMS (e.g., WordPress) updates, ensuring consistency with design standards.

·      Deploy new features and integrations on the website and other digital assets.

·      Conduct quality assurance testing for functionality, compatibility, and performance across devices and browsers.

RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

·      Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of web platforms and system integrations; recommend and implement solutions that align with organizational standards.

·      Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools for web and integration development, considering performance, scalability, and compatibility with existing systems.

· Gather user insights through surveys, interviews, and usability testing, and apply findings to enhance website design, functionality, and integrated digital experiences.

TEAM MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

· Forecasting part-time student staffing needs, developing schedules, and ensuring staffing costs stay within allocated budget for part-time student staff roles

·  Provide supervision and technical guidance to part-time student staff.

·  Providing guidance and support to ensure staff meet performance expectations and goals, conducting performance reviews and managing attendance of staff.

·  Review deliverables for quality and compliance with standards.

·  Support onboarding and training of new student team members.

What IGNITE will expect from you:

Education & Experience

·      Relevant post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field.

·      Minimum 3–4 years of experience in system integrations , web platform management , and cloud services , with exposure to data analytics or reporting.

·      Experience in the post-secondary education or non-profit sector is an asset.

Core Competencies

·      Strong understanding of Azure-based cloud infrastructure , including Azure SQL and related services.

·      Ability to configure and manage integrations using APIs, connectors, and automation tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps).

·      Knowledge of database management principles , security best practices, and disaster recovery planning.

·      Familiarity with data utilization best practices and supporting analytics projects through reliable integrations.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

·      Strong analytical mindset and ability to prioritize tasks for successful project delivery

Technical Knowledge

Cloud & Integration

·      Proficiency in Azure services (Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure SQL) and automation scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).

·      Experience with API integration and workflow automation across multiple systems.

·      Knowledge of Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and version control.

Database Management

·      Skilled in SQL programming (queries, stored procedures, triggers) and database optimization.

·      Experience managing cloud databases (Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and applying security best practices.

Web Platform & Best Practices

·      Working knowledge of WordPress administration and web hosting platforms.

·      Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for light front-end updates.

·      Understanding of accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG), responsive design principles, and web security best practices.

Tools & Analytics

·      Experience using Git for version control and Google Analytics for performance monitoring.

· Ability to support data analytics initiatives by ensuring accurate, timely data flows through integrations.
