Senior Accountant - Permanent - 18870

About The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client's team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting foundation and either hold a CPA designation in good standing or be actively pursuing one.
This role is a senior technical contributor who ensures accurate accounting treatment for land development, construction, and capital projects, while supporting month-end close, budgeting, lender reporting, and compliance requirements. This role is well-suited to an experienced accounting professional with strong development and project accounting experience who thrives in a growing, hands-on environment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage the full cycle accounting function: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, job-costing and consolidation
- Prepare, review and present timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and interpret variances
- Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models, including rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, and long term financial planning
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, debt and covenant compliance; lead treasury management and banking relationships as required
- Assist with annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and tax advisors; manage tax planning, filings (corporate, HST/GST, payroll), and regulatory compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., system automation, better cost visibility, improved forecasting) to support the company’s growth strategy
- Work within the company’s accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Viewpoint Vista, or similar), ensuring accurate and timely data entry
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) is required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive finance/accounting experience; previous experience as a senior accounting leader in a service oriented business (preferably construction, real estate or property management) strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of job-costing, project accounting, service contracts and service revenue recognition
About the Job
- This is an on-site role located in Woodstock, ON
- The salary band for this opportunity is $70,000 to $95,000 depending on relevant previous experience
