The Opportunity
Fowler Construction is actively seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support and enhance our company’s recruitment strategy. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, this role is responsible for sourcing, screening, and onboarding top talent across all business units. The successful candidate will play a key role in workforce planning, employer branding, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and develop proactive recruitment plans.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and reference checks.
- Create and maintain job descriptions and interview packages for consistency across departments.
- Manage job postings on Indeed, LinkedIn, and company platforms, ensuring visibility and brand consistency.
- Build and maintain relationships with post-secondary institutions, co-op programs, and recruitment partners.
- Attend and coordinate career fairs, virtual hiring events, and industry recruitment activities.
- Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess hiring effectiveness and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation for new hires.
- Coordinate orientation logistics, including equipment, access, and training schedules.
- Support new hires through the onboarding process, conducting follow-ups at key milestones to ensure successful integration.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records including employee data, internal transfers, and position changes.
- Partner with the HR team to support employee engagement, training initiatives, and retention programs.
- Ensure recruitment practices comply with employment legislation and company policies.
- Contribute to employer branding initiatives to strengthen Fowler’s reputation as an employer of choice.
- Proven experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in construction or related industries.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with employment legislation and best practices in recruitment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Strong administrative background with experience entering and maintaining employee onboarding documentation.
