What is the opportunity?
Provide internal and external communications support for the regional Quebec leadership team and contribute to the planning and execution of social media programs, to enhance the reputation and corporate image of RBC while supporting the business objectives and strategic priorities of the region.
Partner with Corporate Communications to ensure that sensitive public issues are handled in an effective manner.
What will you do?
Deliver an Exceptional Client Experience
- Provide support to the members of the Quebec Executive team for their various internal and external communication needs
- Participate in the development of our social media outreach strategy, and develop a content calendar for our various publications (regional and Quebec leadership)
- Help promote RBC activities (D&I, donation campaigns, etc.) through strategic and impactful communications, while identifying the right communication channels to do so
- Participate in the writing of content for our internal and external platforms
- Follow up on client requests or complaints, as well as media requests
- Participate, in conjunction with the event coordination team, in the organization of internal events (RBC executive market visit, team meetings, webcasts, town hall or roadshow) and ensure their smooth running
- Assist in the review of various translations of articles or communication elements from English to French
- Support in writing emails to our various partners, key players in the banking ecosystem and/or members of the President's network
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities that affect RBC’s reputation (good or bad) in order to provide timely and pertinent counsel the regional president and RBC Executives in Quebec.
- With the Communications Director, ensure sensitive public issues are handled in an effective manner to sustain RBC’s reputation
- Deliver exceptional client experience at all levels of the organization
Corporate Reputation & Image
- Provide proactive and reactive media relations counsel to regional president, market leaders and sales leaders
- Support the members of the Executive team in their speeches, by providing coaching and advice on the delivery of powerful, credible and engaging speeches
- Identify, recommend and implement appropriate media relations strategies to cultivate an engaged workplace by positioning RBC in the media as an employer of choice.
- Help build media lists and proactively send them content that promotes the RBC brand in the various Quebec markets
- Demonstrate teamwork.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in communications with an emphasis on external on external communications (media relations, social media strategies)
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.
- Asset: Deep understanding of media relations and financial services literacy
- Good knowledge of current events, politics
- Ability to identify media opportunities that support RBC’s business and reputational objectives
- Proactive approach, forthcoming and organized

Nice to have
- An undergraduate degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience as a journalist or communications professional.
- Familiarity with print, broadcast and online media
