About the role

As a member of the Saskatchewan Leadership Team, and under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Area Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support, direct supervision, coaching, and performance development in all matters of direct service operations. They ensure excellence in service delivery, employee relations and management, and Strategic Plan implementation related to organizational outcomes. The Area Manager works within established polices and procedures, ensuring that Service principles are adhered to and upheld in service delivery, maintaining organizational integrity and accountability for the people served in the province. The Area Manager works together with the Finance Department to oversee and manage finances for an assigned area. They liaise with agencies and participate in community planning and Ministry of Social Services (MSS) initiatives as directed. The Area Manager also provides orientation and mentoring to new Program Managers and Team Leaders and is involved in various interview and hiring processes and decision-making. The Area Manager is accountable to resolve conflicts and mediate employee relations matters, collaborating with the Human Resources and the Staff Relations Representatives. The Area Manager is also responsible for sharing critical and timely information and reports to both the province team and the Program Managers and Team Leaders they supervise. An essential responsibility of the Area Manager includes the promotion of Karis Disability Services within the local Christian community by offering expertise and supports, soliciting support and encouraging places of belonging for people experiencing disabilities as they cultivate and nurture organizational relationships with local and Christian communities.

Requirements:

  • College Degree in General Arts, Social Work, or Business Administration (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 3 years experience in a Program Management Role
  • 1 year on the job experience within the Developmental Services or Social Services sectors
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Frequent travel throughout the District and on-call responsibilities are a regular part of the job
  • Valid Driver’s License
