Athabasca University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is recruiting to the position of Academic Coordinator, Political Economy & Global Studies.
This is a part-time (0.2FTE) term position ending November 19, 2027.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest Faculty in Athabasca University and offers a wide range of online courses and programs in the areas of education, humanities, interdisciplinary studies, and social sciences.

The Position:
TheCoordinatorwillbe responsible foroverseeing the teaching, administration and maintenance of Athabasca University'sPolitical Economy major, Global Studies minor, andcourses in International Relations.OtherCoordinator duties include supervising and monitoring the performance of course tutors (who teach and markstudentassignments), the handling of student issues as they are brought forward by students, tutors, or the institution (e.g. grade appeals, course credit challenges, academic misconduct cases, transfer credit requests),work related to themaintenance of the Program Learning Outcomesin Political Economy,and service to the Centre forSocial Sciences(e.g. attending meetings held by the Centre and by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences).
Qualifications:
Athabasca University is hiring an academic coordinator withexpertiseinthe area ofPolitical Economy broadly defined.A minimum of aMaster'sdegree inany related disciplineisrequired; a PhD is preferred. Experience in distanceand onlinelearning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies would also be preferred assets.
