POSITION SUMMARY

As part of our infrastructure team, the Cloud Administrator works with a mix of established and new technologies while building and supporting our core infrastructure. You will be working with and developing a multi-disciplinary set of skills in areas of IT infrastructure: cloud services, networking, Linux and windows servers, security and monitoring.

Working closely with technical staff, business stakeholders, vendors, and third parties to ensure successful delivery of IT initiatives, timely resolution of IT service incidents and changes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and operations of Linux and Windows software including OS, third party tools and security patches within our cloud environment.
  • Contributes and collaborates on a multi-disciplinary team including:
  • Compute and storage administration
  • Application and server administration
  • Backup/restore administration
  • Infrastructure and application monitoring
  • Administers Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft 365 services such as Azure AD, Exchange, Sharepoint, and Teams.
  • Manages enterprise Windows workstations using Endpoint Manager, Intune and Autopilot.
  • Leverages automation through the development of scripts and infrastructure as code tools.
  • Works with the Service Desk team to troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents or service requests.
  • Works with the Security team to implement security policies and controls.
  • Works with the Application development team and other technical or business teams on IT initiatives.
  • Adheres to all operational and project expectations relating to status reporting and change control.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility of tasks and acts in the best interest of the organization.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates activities with vendors and third-party suppliers as required
  • Provides occasional after-hours support and participate in on-call rotation. Perform approved upgrades/changes during available maintenance windows.
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation, procedures, and run-books.
  • Performs special assignments and related duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
  • University degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or college diploma in a related area and a minimum of five year’s related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with Linux enterprise operating systems, including automating installations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems as well as Active Directory.
  • Hands on experience managing end user hardware in an enterprise environment, including laptops, print devices, etc.
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of cloud automation tools such as Terraform is considered an asset.
  • Experience with automation and modern deployment methodologies is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, such as change management, incident management, etc.
  • Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills with ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Organized and capable of handling multiple priorities under the pressure of time constraints.
