Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing various medication management activities of the Pharmacy Department under the oversight of a Pharmacist. The position works collaboratively with the Clinical Pharmacists, and provides safe and effective drug distribution services to Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare patients.
Qualifications:
Unit dose and/or IV additives experience is an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all patients, staff and visitors
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated commitment to professional development
Willingness to participate in process improvement, to perform quality improvement audits and participate in all departmental initiatives.
Committed to the values of the organization
French Language proficiency is an asset
Must be able to work all shifts as required
Education and/or Certification:
Graduate of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician program - Required
Completion or in the process of registration with the College of Pharmacists of Ontario- Required
1-2 years Pharmacy Technician experience – Preferred
Hospital pharmacy experience - Preferred
