Battlefield Equipment Rentals (a division of Toromont Industries Ltd.), one of Canada’s premiere Construction Rental Companies, has an immediate requirement for a Technician Level 1 - Union in our Winnipeg location.

Job Type: Full-time

Wage: $23.38 - $26.19 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a variety of industrial tooling including hand tools, power tools, small engine powered equipment, work tool, non CH’D heaters, electrical equipment and any other type of equipment as required;
• Certification and Calibration of above tooling;
• General assessment of tools returned from rental;
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and follows manufacturers recommendations;
• Thorough understanding of electric tool repair, air tool repair, cordless tool repair in the handheld categories;
• Ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner;
• Maintain logs and document repairs accordingly;
• Participate in safe workplace safety, environmentally sound behaviors and practices at all times in support of Battlefield’s health and safety policy programs and initiatives;
• Provide excellent customer relations in a fast-paced environment;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch & Service Managers;

Key Qualifications

• Existing knowledge of construction equipment and building products;
• Hands on experience in the repair and service/maintenance requirements for various types of construction equipment;
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and factory standards;
• Ability to work independently, and in a team atmosphere;
• Good communication and people skills;
• Strong time management and organizational skills;
• Operate and maintain all shop equipment and ensure a safe, clean & organized shop area.

Additional Qualifications

• Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting; as heavy lifting will be required frequently;
• The ideal candidate will have previous experience with CAT Equipment;
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License;
• Your own tools are required.
