Your role
- Lead and manage audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries
- Participate in consulting engagements or special assignments and identify client service opportunities
- Supervise, develop and lead a team of accounting professionals
- Identifying and cultivating new sales and/or client service opportunities
- Complete corporate and personal income tax returns
- Compiling feedback on staff performance throughout the year and conducting regular performance reviews
- Leading practice and professional development initiatives
- Assess risk, controls, and accounting processes to offer clients solutions and recommendations
What you bring to the table
- CPA designation
- Multiple years of accounting experience, preferably within a professional services firm
- Experience working in public practice accounting
- A solid foundation of accounting and assurance education with experience executing Audit, Notice to Reader and Review engagements
- Experience preparing tax returns. Corporate, Personal, Trust; as well as T4s and T5s
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor and develop others to build high performing teams
- Experience supervising staff on multiple engagements
- Experience with Caseware, Profile, Sage 300 (ACCPAC), Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) and QuickBooks is an asset
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly MS Excel
- Excellent client services skills with an aptitude to understand the clients’ business and maintain strong client relationship
- Business development skills are an asset
