This role leads fund accounting operations and client relationship management, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, team development, and seamless service delivery across multiple investment fund engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review financial statements and footnotes for accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee tax and audit processes, providing necessary documentation to auditors and tax accountants.
- Review and approve quarterly management fee calculations.
- Act as the primary client contact, promptly addressing questions and requests.
- Lead and maintain client relationships, including organising and conducting regular client meetings.
- Manage, train, and develop accounting staff and senior accountants, including onboarding, policy enforcement, and performance reviews.
- Review capital call calculations and prepare capital call letters.
- Support team members as needed to ensure deliverables are met.
- Prepare and review distribution calculations and letters for accuracy and timely delivery.
- Read and interpret Limited Partnership Agreements to ensure compliance in financial statements, capital calls, distributions, and management fees.
- Conduct 1099 reviews and ensure proper reporting.
- Own the delivery of client products and manage both internal and external timelines.
- Coordinate with valuation, treasury, investor relations, and management company teams as required.
- Report potential client needs and new business opportunities to senior management.
- Maintain and independently manage 3-4 client engagements at any given time.
- Lead project management efforts and continuously improve team operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting schedules.
- Redeploy resources as necessary to meet deadlines and targets.
- Offer one-on-one training and career development support to team members of all levels.
- Set development goals and provide career path guidance for staff.
- Ensure the team meets utilisation, client profitability, and target hours.
- Perform final reviews and maintain accountability for the team’s performance and quality of work.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of each client engagement to guarantee high-quality service.
- Assist with onboarding new clients to ensure seamless transitions and continued client satisfaction.
- Manage internal audit and tax schedules; resolve any issues escalated by the team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client service providers.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of all aspects of fund administration and accounting processes.
- Continuously assess and improve workflow processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Resolve complex client issues and facilitate high-level discussions as necessary.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance or related business discipline along with a minimum of 3-5 years’ manager experience in public accounting and/or fund administration
- Excellent creative problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills, with sharp attention to detail
- Resourceful, motivated, and committed to finding innovative solutions to client issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently while maintaining high standards of quality and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat
