What You'll Do
Provide oversight for the lockout and energy isolation processes in the Mill and Loadout Read and interpret mechanical, electrical and piping diagrams, as well as P&IDs to assist in lockout creation and troubleshooting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Navigate and edit documents in SharePoint. Ensure all lockout and energy isolation processes and supporting systems are up-to-date, fully resourced, comply with OH&S regulations, and are in alignment with the site’s policies and procedures Act as the primary liaison between Operations, Maintenance, contractors, and project management teams for organizing lockout, confined space, and line break activities Regularly review the energy isolation program and support documents with a focus on improvement and accuracy of process. Create and implement lockout/energy isolation, confined space, lockbox and line break procedures Care for lockout boards; ensure all necessary lockout resources are prepared, maintained, and ready for use, all required paperwork available Liaison with the turnaround coordinator for the long-term planning and coordination of lockouts tailored to the work being performed, work scope walkdowns, and support meetings. Familiarity with SAP functions to assist with workorder creation, tracking and implementation with operations supervisors. Work with the Safety Department to update lock out policy and train employees, as needed Work closely with Coordinators and Planning and able to read and understand a project or shutdown schedule Investigate and reporting energy isolation or confined space infractions Coordination & Communication Act as primary liaison between Operations, Maintenance, contractors, and project management teams for lockouts and isolations. Daily coordination with operations superintendent and supervisor to relay work requirements to maintenance and ensure updates are provided. Coordinate operational requests for immediate or next-day work. Short-term planning with contractor coordinator, maintenance planners, and supervisors for day-to-day activities. Collaborate with maintenance scheduler, planners and supervisors on weekly maintenance schedule to ensure work aligns with run rates and equipment availability.
What You'll Bring
Must have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent. Must have 7+ years of experience in an industrial plant/mill setting, with demonstrated strengths in lockout/energy isolation procedures. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, piping diagrams, and P&IDs for lockout creation and troubleshooting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Skilled in navigating and editing documents in SharePoint. OPIS site expert user: update shift log templates, production targets, user access, and lost limit reporting. Familiarity with SAP functions for work order creation, tracking and implementation. Good working knowledge of Mill operations, processes, and equipment, including safety principles and procedures Demonstrated working knowledge of the OH&S regs with respect to confined space and energy isolation requirements Safety Commitment Effective planning skills Demonstrated ability to keep administrative work well-organized Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
