About the role
The Catholic Independent Schools of the Nelson Diocese (CISND), hosts six elementary schools, and one high school. The diocese is located in the beautiful Okanagan and Kootenay regions of British Columbia. The** Catholic Independent Schools of the Nelson Diocese (CISND) invites applications for: **
Teachers Teaching-On-Call (TOC)
Individuals with a current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch and a valid BC teaching certificate (or pending) are encouraged to apply for placement on the CISND Teacher-On-Call list. We invite applications from generalists and specialists, in primary, middle and secondary years who are familiar with the renewed BC curriculum in order to support students at all CISND schools. Substitute teachers must be committed to engaging students in activities and striving for meaningful learning experiences.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Commitment to Catholic Education
- Identification with and participation in the life of a Catholic parish
- Successful teaching experience
- Ability to support students with exceptional needs through differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters

- Resume listing special certificates, licenses, honours and awards, relevant special interests and activities for which you may consider a leadership role
- BC Teacher’s Certificate (or confirmation of application for certification)

- Post Secondary Transcripts
- Recent Evaluation/Practicum report from employer/practicum supervisor
- **CISND **Pastoral Reference form
**As a condition of employment, successful candidates must complete Diocesan Safe Environment training and will be required to submit the following: **
- Photocopy of Canadian Birth Certificate or Canadian Passport (documentation to indicate you are legally entitled to work in Canada)
