In the CEIE role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of industry professionals across the Information Technology (IT) and Critical Environments (CE) spectrum within Microsoft 24x7x365 mission-critical datacenters.

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I CE IE, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls OR equivalent experience
  • 1.5+ years of experience in design and/or commissioning of ICS in datacenter critical environments, including Modbus and BACnet protocols.
  • 2+ years of experience with operation and maintenance of building electrical systems (Power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, and related controls) and mechanical systems (HVAC, Chilled Water, DX Refrigerant, Evaporative, and related controls).

Other Requirements:

This role requires the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Reliability Status screening: This position requires that the successful candidate obtain and maintain a Reliability Status security screening with the Government of Canada. Microsoft will work with individuals on a case-by-case basis to determine if the requisite screening can be obtained within required timelines.

Preferred Qualifications**:**

  • 3+ years of experience in an operational, mission-critical, 24x7x365 facility.
  • Project management experience with a focus on agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple concurrent mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to balance competing resource demands and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and meet deadlines.
  • Provide meaningful and timely reporting for weekly success metrics.
  • Established understanding of EPMS, BCM, BAS, and/or BMS systems.

Service Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop end-to-end expertise in Industrial Control Systems (ICS), including interactions between technology layers, components, infrastructure functions, and dependencies at scale.
  • Independently adjust configurations and define infrastructures to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of ICS.
  • Create new procedures and processes to self-perform changes on ICS.
  • Create, monitor, and act on telemetry data; influence analytics to identify patterns revealing errors or inefficiencies.
  • Respond to incidents per DCIM Tier Support process, including complex issues with major business impact; troubleshoot, deploy fixes, and implement lessons learned.
  • Drive reviews with partner teams that design, commission, and operate ICS, identifying operational efficiencies and sharing recommendations.
