Team Overview:
The Employee Care Centre is seeking a seasoned HR professional to support complex and sensitive HR work through a strategic advisory and governance‑focused role. This position operates as a senior HR Generalist and trusted partner, providing expert guidance on high‑impact HR matters, managing escalations, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen HR programs, processes, and operational effectiveness.
The role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment. The successful incumbent will collaborate closely with internal clients, HR partners, subject matter experts and leaders to resolve complex issues and support organizational priorities through data‑informed insights and thoughtful solutions.
In addition to advisory responsibilities, the role plays a key part in international relocation governance, strategic projects, continuous improvement, and operational effectiveness, including financial support activities. This position also contributes to team capability building through mentoring, coaching student resources, and sharing expertise across the HR community.

What you will be doing:
Strategic HR Advisory
- Act as a senior HR Generalist and trusted advisor, providing guidance on complex and sensitive HR matters with an enterprise‑wide and international perspective
- Manage strong relationships with internal clients as a credible partner supporting organizational objectives
- Interpret and apply specialist advice on HR policies, programs, and procedures to resolve complex or contentious issues
- Promote and advance inclusion, diversity, and equity (ID&E) through effective partnership with internal stakeholders
Escalations, Risk & Complex Issues
- Lead and resolve escalations using sound judgment, discretion, and collaboration with HR partners and subject matter experts
- Analyze HR data and qualitative insights to assess risk, diagnose root causes, and recommend practical, evidence‑based solutions
International Relocation Governance
- Lead international relocation activities as the primary point of contact for employees
- Partner with relocation partners to ensure compliance, consistency, and a positive employee experience
- Resolve relocation‑related issues and calculate allowances in accordance with established policies (e.g., COLA, transportation, hardship, deployment and assignment allowances).
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify gaps in processes or documentation and develop or enhance policies, procedures, and guidance
Collaboration & Team Enablement
- Collaborate with cross‑functional HR teams and stakeholders to deliver consistent outcomes
- Provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to junior and student resources
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment
HR Operations & Data
- Support HR budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and benchmarking activities
- Validate HR data (e.g., PeopleSoft) to ensure accuracy and compliance
What we are looking for:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in human resources management or senior HR advisory roles
- Demonstrated experience as a senior HR Generalist and trusted advisor, providing guidance on sensitive, complex, and high‑risk HR matters with sound judgment and discretion
- Strong working knowledge of HR policies, programs, and procedures, with experience interpreting and applying them in complex or contentious situations, including leading escalations with HR partners and subject matter experts
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess risk, analyze complex situations, use HR data and qualitative insights, and recommend balanced, evidence‑based solutions
- Experience supporting or leading international HR activities (e.g., relocations), with an understanding of compliance, consistency, and employee experience considerations
- Experience leading or contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including process or documentation development and applying HR operations knowledge (e.g., HRIS, payroll, benefits, ATS)
- Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills, with experience working across cross‑functional HR teams and stakeholders
- Experience providing guidance or coaching to junior team members and contributing to mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, communication, and client service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment
- Bilingualism in English and French is preferred; unilingual candidates will also be considered
