Job Overview
These are full-time and part-time seasonal (temporary) opportunities running from June 15, 2026, to September 4, 2026.
Core hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
Hourly wage: $17.60–$20.00, depending on role, certifications, and experience.
Reporting to the Camp Director, Camp Lifeguards / Swim Instructors are responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment while delivering high-quality swim instruction to campers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active surveillance of pools and aquatic spaces
- Enforce pool safety rules and emergency procedures
- Deliver age-appropriate swim instruction and aquatic programming
- Support campers with skill development, water confidence, and safety awareness
- Respond effectively to aquatic emergencies and first aid situations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment
- Work collaboratively with camp counsellors and aquatics staff to support daily camp operations
Qualifications
- Current National Lifeguard (NL) certification – required
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C – required
- Swim Instructor certification (Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor or equivalent) – required
- Previous experience teaching swimming lessons and/or lifeguarding children is an asset
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work with a variety of age groups and skill levels
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, professional, and safety-focused in all situations
- Vulnerable Sector Screening – required
