Nelson Christian Community School (NCCS) is accepting applications for a dynamic principal, committed to our mission and values, commencing August 1, 2024. We are looking for a Christ-centered leader with a passion for quality Christian education who exhibits proven expertise in education and leadership. The candidate must be a strong spiritual leader who models integrity and faith with a passion for Christ-centred education.

The successful candidate will:

- Demonstrate spiritual maturity combined with academic and leadership competencies.
- Possess strong, positive interpersonal and communication skills
- Be effective in implementing curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices that meet the diverse needs of learners
- Makes wise decisions which are aligned with core values and professional norms, and best interests of staff and students.
- Be highly organized, efficient and manage time and priorities well.
- Be effective in resolving problems while maintaining the dignity of all parties.
NCCS is a vibrant faith-based school nestled on the mountainside on the North Shore of Kootenay Lake in the beautiful, small City of Nelson in the Southern Interior of B.C. With over 21 years of commitment to quality education, we are committed to providing exceptional student-centered Christian education in a safe and caring family environment. As a small interdenominational and multicultural school, our students benefit from low student:teacher ratios, unique and enriching options programs, and outdoor learning, an emphasis on integrating Christian values into all aspects of our program.
**Qualifications **
- Valid BC teaching certificate
- Master's degree in education or a related field is an asset
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience in a K-9 setting
- A proven track record of effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experienced teacher (minimum of 5 years) with training and understanding of the meaning and value of a faith-based learning environment
- Principal or Vice Principal experience is considered an asset
- Acceptance of the NCCS Statement of Faith, without reservation
