About the role

LTL Contracting Ltd. is seeking a Health and Safety Administrator to join our team. Reporting directly to Senior Manager, the H&S Administrator will be responsible for coordinating all areas of health, safety, and compliance across the business. The successful candidate must initiate and streamline safety and compliance systems, processes, policies, and practices to sustain and support a culture of safety, reducing incidents, and maintain operational productivity.

Job Description

  • Update and distribute Health and Safety procedures and Environmental/Sustainability policies.

  • Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

  • Engage directly in Hazard Identification and Near Miss reporting, leading meeting coordination and follow up efforts.

  • Manage essential documentation for WSIB claims, oversee WSIB correspondence.

  • Maintain HSE supplies through inventory management and ordering.

  • Utilize data to track and consolidate information, aiding in the monitoring and reporting of HSE goals, targets and KPIs.

  • Assist with the implementation of site wide environmental initiatives that support our sustainability plan.

  • Adhere to all the requirements of the LTL Quality Management System.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our HSE program.

  • Work towards COR for the company to help demonstrate our commitment to safety.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline is required. NCSO preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ health and safety experience.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive understanding of Federal Health and Safety Regulations, such as the Canada Labour Code, Motor Vehicle Act, National Safety Code, and Workers Compensation Act.

  • Incident Investigation: Comprehensive experience with incident investigation and determination of causation.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.

  • Communication: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be allowed on Vale Property
