YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Support the Blaster Lead in the following:

  • Operate an Emulsion Loading Unit;
  • Move and install machines and material to load drilled holes;
  • Load and time holes according to blasting patterns;
  • Perform daily equipment inspection;
  • Inspect working environment by scaling rocks;
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met;
  • Operate other equipment associated with the operation, as required;
  • Any other duties required by the supervisor.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Proven experience in production blasting;

  • Proven experience with the Emulsion loading unit, as well as electronic detonators and loggers;

  • Minimum of 2000 hours of experience as a production blaster;

  • High School Diploma;

  • NAC Certification or DEP in Mineral Extraction, or equivalent;

  • Underground certification or equivalent, such as Mining Modules and Common Core;

  • Mining engineering plan reading skills an asset;

  • Valid approval letter under the explosives regulations or equivalent, such as explosive permit;

  • Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;

  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;

  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written);

  • Position reserved for Inuit Beneficiary candidates.
