Are you ready to apply your knowledge in the real world?We are hiring a Summer Student for the May to August 2026 Term with our Commercial Operations team.
During your time with us, you will gain exposure to what it’s like to be part of the Emera Energy Commercial Operations Team by supporting our Natural Gas Scheduling and Power Asset Management functions through a variety of tasks from preparing and reviewing commercial data and reports to scheduling power and natural gas across multiple systems and pipelines.
What you’ll do:
We’ll treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include**:**
- Prepare and review various daily reports, market data, gas flow summaries, daily PnLs etc.
- Assist in the scheduling of power assets across multiple system operators (ISONE, NYISO, IESO)
- Scheduling and optimizing the flow of gas on a number of smaller volume pipelines, reconciliation of these flows in the company’s enterprise risk management system
- Prepare and review power and natural gas settlement data
- Assist in processing documentation and automation
By the end of the work-term, you will:
- Have a base understanding of the Natural Gas and Power Trading/Marketing industry.
Who you are:
Working as a valued part of our team, you will bring:
- 2+ years enrolled in a program of study focused on Business/IT/Analytics or Finance;
- Has an interest in learning more about and/or pursuing a career in wholesale energy markets;
- Customer service experience;
- Excel knowledge;
- Problem solver with a strong attention to detail.
