We are seeking an Analyst to join our Pricing & Revenue Management Team. This individual should exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoy challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast paced and competitive environment.

The Pricing & Revenue Management teams work hand in hand managing day to day and long-term strategic revenue optimization for WestJet. What is Pricing and Revenue Management? It isn’t corporate finance or accounting, but it exists in many industries. It is why roses cost more on Valentine’s Day than the week after, why hotel rooms in Las Vegas cost more on the weekend than mid-week, and why sometimes there are seat sales for flights many months in advance. Responsible for defining price points based on the strategic direction of the market, balancing consumer demand and competitive needs in a constantly shifting environment. Pricing & Revenue Management is a blend of art and science that requires the combination of strategic thinking and problem solving to make high impact decisions with immediate impacts.

Key deliverables include:

  • Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for a piece of the WestJet network of routes, worth over $100 million annually to help maximize WestJet’s unit revenue and own the strategy

  • Extract and manipulate large data sets to analyze changes in market conditions such as capacity, competition, schedule, and inventory to develop, implement and track appropriate strategies to achieve and exceed performance targets

  • Work cross functionally with Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Alliances, Rewards and Vacations often up to senior leadership levels to jointly achieve network and revenue goals

  • Responsible for revenue optimization on WestJet’s flight network through the timely, accurate and efficient implementation of WestJet’s fare products in all distribution channels by gaining proficiency with all Westjet tools and systems

  • Develop high impacting reports and presentations for Pricing & Revenue Management Leadership team regarding performance and forward-looking strategies

  • Competitively monitor the pricing environment of both WestJet and other carriers providing clear understanding of changes and communicating to team members and leadership how they impact WestJet.

  • Monitor KPI performance, adjusting and communicating strategies needed to meet goals

Experience & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Economics/Math/Statistic/Business/Engineering/Finance/Computer science preferred)

  • Track record of outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Previous experience as an Analyst or role incorporating business decision making in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to independently manipulate large data sources to create actionable analysis and/or reports

  • Understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices of Pricing and Revenue Management theory is an asset

  • Experience with Airline Pricing and Revenue Management tools (ATPCO, Sabre, SNTE, PROS) is not required but considered an asset

  • Experience with Tableau, Cognos, Power BI, and other analysis tools an asset

  • Most importantly, a willingness to learn and a strong competitive spirit

  • Please note: Analyst level and title will be determined by the selection team based on the evaluation process and the candidates requisite experience.
