As an Intermediate Electrical Technician / Technologist, you will join Spencer Engineering, a division of BESTECH and Englobe, and work with a specialized team supporting the design, modernization, inspection, and documentation of mine hoisting systems across North America.

Your Main Responsibilities

Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety policies, procedures, and culture; Prepare, develop, and review electrical and instrumentation drawings, design documents, scopes of work, and bill of materials; Complete electrical design and drafting work using AutoCAD and related design tools; Support the design, assessment, modernization, and documentation of mine hoisting and industrial electrical systems; Conduct site visits to collect field data, verify existing installations, and document site conditions; Support field investigations, inspections, commissioning activities, and technical troubleshooting as required; Complete QA/QC reviews of drawings, documentation, and technical deliverables; Maintain accurate technical records, field notes, project documentation, and progress updates; Collaborate with engineers, designers, technologists, project managers, contractors, and clients to support project delivery; Assist with the preparation of technical content for reports, proposals, design packages, and client deliverables; Manage assigned tasks to support project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements; Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff when required, while continuing to develop specialized expertise in mine hoist systems.

What Makes You Unique

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technician, or a related discipline; Minimum of 4 years of related experience in electrical design, drafting, industrial systems, mining, automation, or a similar technical environment; Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical drafting/design practices; Experience preparing electrical drawings, instrumentation drawings, technical documentation, and design packages; Familiarity with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations; Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality technical work; Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to projects with defined scope, schedule, and budget requirements; Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; Valid driver’s licence; Valid passport and ability to travel to client sites throughout North America, approximately 25% of the time.

Previous mine hoist experience is not required. We welcome candidates with strong electrical design, drafting, industrial systems, automation, mining, or heavy industrial experience who are interested in developing specialized expertise in mine hoisting systems.
