Distance (www.distance.so) is looking for a Sales Development Representative to help us grow our outbound sales engine.
This role is for someone who is confident on the phone, comfortable with rejection, and excited to spend their day starting conversations with business owners. You’ll be responsible for cold calling, qualifying prospects, booking meetings for our Sales Executives, and helping us introduce Distance to home service businesses across North America.
This is not a passive sales role. We’re looking for someone who has cold called before at scale, enjoys the grind of outbound, and wants to get better every week through coaching, feedback, and repetition.

Distance is an AI software company helping home service businesses respond instantly to leads in order to book more jobs.
Our platform automatically answers calls, messages, and customer inquiries, qualifies leads, and helps schedule appointments — so business owners never miss an opportunity. We work with companies across industries like restoration, roofing, pest control, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, and other home services.
We’re growing quickly and looking for ambitious people who want to build real sales skills at the frontier of AI.
The impact you’ll have
In this role, your main focus will be outbound prospecting.
You will:
- Cold call home service businesses across the US and Canada
- Start conversations with owners, operators, and decision-makers
- Qualify prospects and identify companies that could benefit from Distance
- Book qualified meetings for our Sales Executives
- Follow up with prospects through calls, email, and SMS
- Use our CRM to track activity, conversations, and next steps
- Learn our product, customer pain points, and sales messaging
- Take coaching, practice your talk tracks, and improve your performance every week
- Share feedback from prospects to help us improve our outbound messaging
- Occasionally represent Distance at trade shows, conferences, and industry events across North America

Most home service businesses miss opportunities every day because they can’t respond fast enough to calls, or don’t re-engage their customers automatically. Distance helps solve that problem.
As an SDR, you’ll be the first conversation many prospects have with our company. Your job is to create interest, uncover pain, and book qualified meetings that turn into revenue.
This is a great role for someone who wants to sharpen their sales skills, get serious about outbound, and grow inside a fast-moving AI company.
Requirements
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is hungry, coachable, and comfortable on the phone.
You may be a strong fit if you are:
- Comfortable making cold calls and speaking with business owners
- Experienced in phone-based sales, outbound calling, appointment setting, or customer outreach
- Confident, clear, and persuasive in live conversations
- Resilient and able to handle rejection without getting discouraged
- Coachable — you want feedback, apply it quickly, and care about improving
- Competitive and motivated by goals, targets, and commission
- Organized and reliable — you follow up, log activity, and do what you say you’ll do
- Curious and willing to learn about AI, software sales, and home service businesses
- Comfortable with occasional travel across Canada and the United States
- Professional and able to represent the brand well when needed
- Experience with cold calling, call centers, appointment setting, door-to-door sales, retail sales, telecom, insurance, real estate, financial services, or B2B sales is a strong plus
