About the role
Salary :
- Starting wage at$24.48 per hour;
- $25.84 per hour after 240 Days Worked
- $27.20 per hour after 480 Days Worked
Work Schedule: 3 Shift operations (day, afternoon and night) - 40 hours per week
- Afternoon shift – 1.15$/h premium
- Night shift – 1.35$/h premium
We are looking for people available on a rotative schedule, 2 weeks each shift.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for repairing, assembling, and testing all types of tools for production readiness.
- Verifies conformance of dies, new or repaired to specification by checking dimensions cutting clearances, forms and alignments as required.
- Must have mechanical aptitude to support the shop with troubleshooting and repairing issues.
- Keep tool shop organized, clean,
- Advise Plant Manager on all inventory levels.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Experience with machining, mill, lathe, grinder, polishing, and/or hand finishing.
- Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting progressive and transfer dies.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve tolerance and material issues independently.
- Experience with dismantling and repairs or replaces parts of damaged dies and fixtures, fits and assembles parts, and tests repaired dies for proper operation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Commitment to maintaining an effective preventative maintenance program. Ensuring all tools are properly fit for use.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to work flexible rotating hours, including overtime, as needed.
- Willingness to adapt to changes in schedules and priorities.
- An Ontario or Inter-Provincial Tool & Die Maker (430A) Certificate of Qualification is preferred.
- Must be able to pass math and mechanical proficiency test.
