PLEASE POST FOR ALL C.U.P.E. LOCAL 847 STAFF C.U.P.E. ENTERNAL JOB POSTING NO. 26-05 POSITION: TEMP COMPUTER TECHNICIAN 1 – Merritt 7.5 hours per day / 5 days per week
EFFECTIVE: Immediately to June 30, 2026, or the return of incumbent. SHIFT: Shift to be determined by Supervisor SALARY: As per Collective Agreement QUALIFICATION: As per Job Description
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Completion of a recognized two year Computer Technology diploma/certificate;
- Six months of related work experience in technical support;
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License;
- Ability to plan, organize and keep accurate written records;
- Ability to work independently;
- Demonstrated experience in the field of networking and communication systems;
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of hardware and software common to the educational environment;
- Experience in the design and installation of multi-platform local and wide area networks;
- The ability to troubleshoot from a technical and practical point of view;
- Demonstrated ability of problem solving and problem analysis;
- Experience with multi-media hardware and software;
- Ability to interact effectively and harmoniously with all staff in providing technical training for the installation and use of educational software;
- Proven ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Ability to actively participate in department meetings on an as needed basis;
- Ability to work in an orderly manner and see assignments through to completion;
- Sufficient physical capability, stamina and coordination to perform the duties of the trade to the standards required;
- Willingness to participate in district initiatives as directed by management.
