We are recruiting for a Summer Scheduling Student to provide administrative support to the Scheduling Department. This is a full-time position starting as soon as April 20, 2026, for approximately 4-5 months. This position works up to 37.5 hours biweekly with an hourly rate of pay of $21.43. Please note that this position is contingent upon funding approval through the Federal Government Canada Summer Jobs program.
Minimum requirements of these positions include:
- Completion of secondary school and enrolled in post-secondary education in a closely related field of education which may include business/office administration, Human Resources or legal administration, or other closely related field
- Some related experience is an asset
- Demonstrated skills in inclusive leadership, including building relationships, problem solving and decision making, self-awareness, championing change and innovation.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge and familiarity with computer operations and software applications.
- Current valid driver's licence and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.
Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Available to all employees in a timely manner
- Ensuring scheduling information is accurate, approved and submitted on time for payroll processing Making arrangements with temporary agencies to cover vacant shifts
- Serving as point of contact for all employees between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm concerning work absences
- Approving time off requests, absences, shift changes, etc. as per collective agreements, Employment Standards Act and individual location criteria
- Assisting with non-union emails for leave management and complete related data entry into the scheduling system as needed
- Assisting with shift coverage, as needed
- Providing support and assistance with problem solving to team members
- Working cooperatively and confidentially with payroll, People and Culture and supervisors/managers
- Ensuring proper use of and maintenance of Agency equipment, buildings, property and other assets
