JOB POSTING – INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC/MILLWRIGHT
Classification: Maintenance Level II
Number of positions and location: 1 Full Time – Calgary
Work Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule – 8 week shift rotation of days, afternoons, nights and weekends
Responsibilities and Expectations (but not limited to):
-
Ensure the proper functioning of all mechanical equipment in the facility.
-
Perform installation, repair and preventative maintenance tasks as required.
-
Responsible for all control systems in the plant, utilizing through knowledge of processing and packaging systems.
Requirements:
-
Journeyman Millwright with at least 5 years’ experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
-
Physical fitness to lift up to 50lbs on a continual basis.
-
Experience with welding and machining.
-
Familiarity with one or more of the following equipment: Polaris E, Polaris 2 and Polaris 3 vertical form fill and seal packaging machines, Fryers, X-Ray machines, vibratory conveyors.
-
Demonstrated history of safe work habits.
-
Aptitude for troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
-
Hands-on experience and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronics, PLC maintenance, trouble shooting, installation, repair & overhaul of processing, packaging, material handling & systems equipment and facility.
-
Knowledge of PMC programs or other preventative maintenance software.
-
Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
-
Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and understand the necessity of compliance with Company policies, Health and Safety legislation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and environmental standards at all times.

Ability to pay attention to detail.
-
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
-
With strong organizational and management skills, able to work alone and ad part of a team.
-
Responsible and dependable with an excellent attendance record, verifiable work history and references.
-
Ability to take direction, both verbal and written, and communicate effectively.

Ability to work under pressure.
-
Must have own tools, toolbox and safety shoes.

Ability to work weekend shift, and willingness to work overtime & rotating shift as required.
