Position Title: Professor, Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning (HRAC)
Status: Full-Time Academic
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
Campus/Location: North Campus - 110 Carrier Drive - In person
Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.
About the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology at Humber:
The Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology (FAST) at Humber College offers a dynamic and innovative learning environment, combining academic theory with hands-on practice in fields such as cybersecurity, engineering, embedded systems, and skilled trades. With cutting-edge facilities, applied research projects, and strong industry connections, FAST prepares students for careers in emerging technologies and complex systems. Faculty members play an integral role in advancing research and developing future leaders in technology and applied sciences.
About the Professor, Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HRAC) Role:
The successful candidates will be required to teach courses in the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning program within the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology and involved in support activities that contribute to Humber's Centres of Innovation (COI).
The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations. Teaching will be assigned at the North campus.
The incumbent will also support student advising, student recruitment, graduate placement, assist with the promotion and marketing of programs and develop and maintain strong industry ties.

Education
The successful candidate will have a current and valid G2 Gas Technician license; a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic or Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Journeyman Certificate of Qualification with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant industry experience. Preference will be given to those with HRAI Certifications, Oil Burner Technician Certification, established HVAC industry connections, familiarity with HVAC Associations and governing bodies like HRAI, ASHRAE, RSES and TSSA. Industry acumen and experience is required, as well as a demonstrated ability to teach a number of courses offered by the College. A strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and industry is required.
