**About the role **

We are looking for a Consumer Insights and Data Analyst to join our Marketing team!

The Consumer Insights Data Analyst will establish themselves as a data subject matter and story-telling expert, performing deep-dive analysis to understand and optimize key levers of our digital marketing funnel in connection with the acquisition, engagement, retention, and expansion of our customer base.

In partnership with cross-functional leaders, the Consumer Insights Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying and prioritizing analytics requirements with the primary objective of illuminating stories and actionable recommendations from our available data sources. The ideal candidate is a strong technical analyst who focuses on the details, who can communicate insights effectively, and who has the drive to use data to make a huge impact on DAVIDsTEA’s overall business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for reporting and analysis, partnering with functional leaders across Merchant, Marketing, and other business areas to define data and insight requirements.
  • Act as the primary user of Shopify, leveraging customer personas to build targeted audiences and customized journeys to drive business growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance and lead flow to optimize marketing programs and channels.
  • Develop and maintain Shopify and CRM dashboards to track lead generation, performance, and key business metrics.
  • Continuously improve marketing ROI reporting, campaign tagging accuracy, and data cleanliness.
  • Conduct weekly customer insight reviews and monthly performance and forecast analyses to support business planning.
  • Translate business questions into actionable research and analysis, presenting clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Query and analyze large datasets using SQL, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Design and monitor key performance metrics, identifying drivers of change and improvement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain automated reports, dashboards, and marketing automation workflows triggered by customer behavior.
  • Develop customer segmentation models and business logic to enhance personalization and conversion.
  • Document and maintain specifications for reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar) with demonstrable knowledge of research principles
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a digital retail reporting and data analytics role in the direct-to-consumer space
  • Experience with Shopify
  • SQL fluency required
  • Experience building dashboards and using data visualization tools (PowerBI, Google Data Studio or similar)
  • Experience in Google Analytics and digital marketing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access)
  • Retail experience an asset
  • Bilingual English/French
  • Work onsite at our Montreal office 5 days a week
