About the role

Job Title: Behaviour Strategist
Location: South and In-Community
Position Type: Full-Time (10.5 month contract)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 4:00PM
Reports To: Psychology & Behaviour Clinical Lead

About: Pacekids Programs is a dynamic, non-profit organization committed to empowering children with diverse needs and their families through education, therapy, and play. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Behaviour Strategist to join our Early Childhood Services (ECS) team, where play-based learning meets meaningful impact.

Position Summary: As a Behaviour Strategist, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering behavioural supports for preschool and school-aged children in our ECS school program. Working closely with families, teachers, Classroom Therapy Aides (CTAs), and our interdisciplinary team, you will create strategies that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with each child’s unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coach, and implement behavioural strategies in classroom settings using a play-based approach.
  • Consult and collaborate with teaching and therapy staff to build capacity and support programming.
  • Provide coaching and recommendations to families to strengthen behavioural programming at home and school.
  • Conduct informal assessments and screenings for preschool and kindergarten-aged children.
  • Support and monitor Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) in collaboration with the team and families.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including annual assessment and treatment summary reports.
  • Deliver training and professional development to Pacekids staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • An acceptable combination of education in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children with diverse needs. Experience in the areas of behavioral psychology, treatment design and implementation, and supporting staff and students in a classroom environment is an asset.
  • Understanding of play-based approaches to supporting children with diverse needs
  • Understanding of child development, and evidence based practices
  • Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning, and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to adjust strategies based on individual needs and priorities.

Requirements:

  • Current Standard or Intermediate First Aid & CPR-Level C certification.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) and Child Intervention Check.
  • Proficiency in English (written & verbal).
  • Experience working with preschool and school-aged children.
