A day in the life…

A day in the life of a Parts & Service Manager at our automotive dealership is a balance of leadership, customer service, and operational oversight. The morning often begins with reviewing the day’s service appointments, ensuring the shop is fully staffed, and addressing any urgent parts orders or overnight deliveries. Throughout the day, the manager coordinates with service advisors, technicians, and the parts team to keep workflow efficient, resolving challenges quickly to minimize downtime. They regularly interact with customers to provide updates, approve repairs, and ensure a positive service experience. Behind the scenes, they monitor inventory levels, analyze parts usage, and liaise with suppliers to secure timely and cost-effective deliveries. The role also involves reviewing work orders, tracking performance metrics, and implementing process improvements to meet dealership goals. By the end of the day, the Parts & Service Manager has not only kept operations running smoothly and met service targets but also invested in their team: coaching a team member, recognizing achievements, and celebrating successes; driving both departmental excellence and the overall growth of the dealership.

What we look for…

  • Proven dealership management experience in fixed operations.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer systems and software applications, such as CDK.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong accuracy, business judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, information governance, and data protection rules.
  • Excellent organizational and realistic time management skills.
  • Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Valid BC driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
