Summary of Duties:
Works under the direction of a Supervisor or designate. Performs duties related to the operation of recreational facilities and parks maintenance.
Main Duties:
- Operates and maintains recreational facilities, including equipment, plant and playground structures.
- Operates any or all of the vehicles or equipment for maintaining parks, open spaces and roadsides.
- Performs regular inspection and maintenance of equipment including the mounting of attachments.
- Inspects, maintains logs and performs routine functions for refrigeration plant as required.
- Inspects, maintains logs and operates pool equipment for circulation, filtration and sanitizing pool water.
- Maintains cleanliness and neatness and performs routine safety inspections of recreational facilities and park amenities.
- Performs activities of a physical nature, when not required to operate vehicle or equipment.
- Writes reports, keeps records and requisitions materials as required.
- On a continuing basis, assumes some of the normal supervisory responsibilities over others.
- Performs customer service and First Aid/CPR functions as required.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools in the performance of the work.
- As assigned, performs related duties which are transient, or of an emergency nature, or which are minor but recurring.
Educations Qualifications:
Successful completion of Grade 12 in the Province of Ontario or equivalent.
Specialized Training & Licenses:
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence.
- Refrigeration Operator Class B Certificate, Technical Standards and Safety Authority - Operating Engineers Regulations (Arena Operations).
- ORFA IMPT and IMEO courses
- Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate or the ability to obtain.
- Certified Pool Operator Certificate or equivalent
- Playground practitioners course
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Demonstrated competency in operation of a variety of equipment in parks maintenance.
Note: Shift work is a requirement during arena assignments, and may be required during other assignments.
Compensation and Other Information:
$30.26 - $33.63 per hour

Work Arrangement: Onsite
