Hi there, we’re Article. Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Junior Product Designer, you'll support senior product designers in their day-to-day, building presentations to showcase new product designs and smaller design projects.

The product design team is at the centre of Article’s business. Working very closely with our Category Management team, they bring product concepts and ideas to life while keeping the Article aesthetic throughout all of our product categories.
The team is looking to bring on a Junior Product Designer to assist with the day-to-day tasks and enable our Senior Product Designers to focus on high-impact work by taking ownership of essential tasks and contributing with a collaborative, team-first mindset. This person will be learning through hands-on project work and exposure to design critiques with the more experienced designers.

About the Product Design team:
Currently, there are 5 designers. They all work very closely together and have created a positive, team-first environment. They have naturally become ultra collaborative within the team and across functions. This environment is ideal for someone who enjoys a “Win Together” mentality in their team.
They are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in designing furniture pieces across all categories
- Translate briefs into detailed sketches and 3D models
- Conduct trend, material, and competitive research to inform design decisions
- Support the creation of concept presentations and participate in product reviews
- Collaborate with sourcing and engineering to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness
- Prepare presentations for internal and cross-functional reviews
- Maintain design documentation and update project timelines as needed
Who You Are:
- Degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or related field
- 1–2 years of relevant design experience (internships included)
- Proficiency in 3D design tools (Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar)
- A strong design portfolio that showcases form development and attention to detail (We want to see your keen eye for design)
- A keen interest in utilizing and researching AI Tools for workflow efficiencies
- Interest in materials, manufacturing methods, and furniture construction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of a criminal background check
