Overview:

Position Summary

The Sales Associate, Used Car, is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience and supporting the dealership’s used vehicle sales goals. This role engages customers on the showroom floor and lot, identifies their needs, presents used vehicle options, and guides them through the full sales and delivery process. The Sales Associate maintains strong product knowledge, represents the OEM dealership with professionalism, and ensures customers feel confident and supported throughout their buying journey.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers promptly, creating a welcoming and professional sales floor experience.
  • Conduct needs assessments to understand customer preferences, budget, and lifestyle.
  • Present and demonstrate used vehicles, explaining features, condition, history, and value compared to alternatives.
  • Guide customers through the entire sales process, including test drives, trade-in discussions, and delivery coordination.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of current used vehicle inventory, reconditioning status, and pricing strategies.
  • Use CRM systems to document interactions, schedule follow-ups, manage appointments, and track sales progress.
  • Collaborate with Used Car Managers, F&I, Service, and other dealership departments to streamline the customer experience.
  • Assist with lot organization, vehicle merchandising, and ensuring inventory is customer ready.
  • Participate in dealership sales events, promotions, and digital retailing initiatives.
  • Complete all required sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Previous sales or customer service experience preferred; automotive industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to learn and explain detailed vehicle information, including condition and reconditioning processes.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems and digital sales tools is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
