About the role

Status: Permanent / Full time (35 hours/week)

Department: Human Resources

Direct supervisor: Director, Human Resources

Location: Kuujjuaq

The Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB), is responsible for managing and operating a pool of +/-4,000 social housing units in the Kativik region, spread across fourteen (14) villages. With the aim of offering comfortable, safe and affordable homes adapted to Inuit needs and culture, and to contribute to community development, we are looking to equip the organization to promote skills development and knowledge transfer.

FUNCTION:

New position, reporting to the Director, Human Resources, but required to collaborate on a daily basis with site managers and key internal mentors. No direct supervisor, but role of strategic influence.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand operational and organizational needs in order to recommend a short, medium and long-term development plan.
  • Recommend solutions adapted to operational and cultural realities, while respecting budgets.
  • Implement strategies and actions to promote learning transfer. Measure progress and provide the necessary support.
  • Take charge of the deployment of the various development activities, adapting the strategy according to the context.
  • Ensure that major training investments comply with the requirements of the Workforce Development Act.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Solid experience in training management and as a trainer.

  • Professional autonomy, good listening skills, good interpersonal skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Concern for operational efficiency and teamwork.

  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

At the Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB), our mission is to provide comfortable, safe and affordable homes adapted to Inuit needs and culture.
