Description du cours : Ce cours sera axé sur l'étude des mécanismes de régulation physiologique et des altérations physiopathologiques de la santé tout au long de la vie, en se concentrant sur certaines maladies parmi les plus répandues en Amérique du Nord. Il explorera les concepts liés aux causes des maladies : altérations acquises, immunitaires, infectieuses, cancérigènes, génétiques et biochimiques de la santé dans certains systèmes de l'organisme. L'accent sera mis sur l'étiologie, les réponses physiopathologiques cellulaires et systémiques, les manifestations cliniques, ainsi que les modalités de diagnostic et de traitement. Responsabilités : Collaborer avec les membres de l'équipe à la mise en oeuvre du cours, de l'élaboration des supports pédagogiques à l'enseignement des contenus, en passant par l'évaluation de la compréhension et de l'esprit critique ; créer un environnement propice à l'apprentissage, préparer les étudiants à acquérir une littératie scientifique et promouvoir des soins fondés sur des données probantes. Les autres responsabilités sont les suivantes - la préparation des cours et du matériel pédagogique - la préparation des devoirs, des tests et des grilles d'évaluation - l'animation d'activités de groupe, à l'aide de modalités d'enseignement à distance - Communication continue avec les étudiants et les autres facilitateurs, si nécessaire. - être disponible pour tenir des heures de bureau virtuelles si nécessaire. 39 heures de contact avec les étudiants (sans compter les évaluations, la planification et les réunions) : planification des cours, enseignement et notation des devoirs. Course description: This course will focus on the study of the physiological control mechanisms and pathophysiologic alterations in health across the lifespan, looking at selected diseases that are the most prevalent in North America. It will explore concepts of disease causation: acquired, immune, infectious, carcinogenic, genetic, and biochemical alterations in health in selected body systems. There will be an emphasis on etiology, cellular and systemic pathophysiologic responses, clinical manifestations, diagnostic, and treatment modalities. Responsibilities: Collaborating with team members on the delivery of the course; from developing course material to teaching content to assessing understanding and critical thinking; creating an environment that facilitates learning and preparing students to scientific literacy and promote evidence-informed care. Other responsibilities include - Preparation of courses and teaching materials - Preparation of assignments, tests, and grading rubrics - Facilitation of group activities, using remote instruction modalities - Ongoing communication with students and other facilitators, as needed - Be available to hold virtual office hours if needed 39-hour student contact hours (NOT including assessments, planning and meetings): course planning, teaching, and grading assignments.
