Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support to the staff in the School Accounting and Internal Reporting unit which includes the school, payroll and school generated funds accountants and to the Manager of School Accounting and Internal Reporting.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
-
reviewing, analyzing, reconciling and processing monthly Division payroll transactions

updating PeopleSoft payroll system tables and cost coding
-
analyzing and processing retroactive job change adjustments
-
providing support for the Division monthly, quarterly, year-end and interim reporting
-
preparing quarterly projection and final year end surplus deficit summary reports
-
assisting with the Payroll System and General Ledger testing
-
providing support to the School Generated Funds Accountant including reviewing monthly SGF reports and following up on any irregularities, errors and non-compliance with Division Regulations
-
providing support to the School Accountants with reviews of school budgets, SGF reports, reviewing and processing journal entries (ITP’S) and revenue remittance vouchers, assisting and advising school Principals, and other school administrative staff on financial policies, procedures and financial information systems providing support to the Manager of School Accounting and Internal Reporting
Education/Qualifications
-
a degree in a related field and working towards a professional accounting designation
-
a minimum of three years related experience
-
experience with full-cycle accounting and financial systems
-
knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
-
excellent consultative, collaborative, analytical and communication skills experience in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Rate of Pay
$46.38 - $59.27 per hour
