Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Manager, Finance will provide strategic leadership to a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development. This role is critical in driving transformation across our finance function, with a strong focus on automation, systems implementation, process optimization, and team development to support the organization’s continued growth.
We’re seeking a strategic finance leader with a CPA designation, strong accounting expertise, and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving transformation and leveraging automation to scale operations as our organization continues to grow.
- Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a high-performing accounting team, supporting professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and tailored development plans
- Oversee core accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes, improving operational efficiency and scalability
- Evaluate, select, and lead the implementation of financial systems and technologies to enhance automation and integration across platforms
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure process effectiveness and progress toward improvement goals
- Collaborate across departments and manage internal and external resources to ensure alignment and optimal performance
- Champion a continuous improvement mindset and lead change initiatives within the finance function
Qualifications
- CPA designation required, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in a direct people leadership role, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success in finance transformation initiatives, including systems implementation and automation projects.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience managing cross-functional relationships.
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies and advanced Excel skills.
- Insurance industry experience is a significant asset.
