Currently, Technica is seeking motivated individuals to join our growing team as Boltec Operators in Timmins, ON. We have multiple positions available and are actively hiring. Successful candidates will be responsible for operating an underground rock bolter safely and efficiently while supporting underground mining operations.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Perform pre-operational inspections and operate a Boltec mechanized rock bolter safely and efficiently. Inspect underground headings, scale loose rock, and carry out work in compliance with company policies and safety procedures. Install primary and secondary ground support in development headings using mechanized bolting equipment. Recondition and rehabilitate existing underground drifts and headings as required. Support underground development activities, including LHD operation, service advancement, loading development faces, and other related tasks. Assist with mechanical installations and the maintenance of underground air, water, and ventilation systems.
Qualifications
Must hold the Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, U0003, U0004, U0005, U0006, U0010, and U0012) or an equivalent provincial certification. Must possess the Underground Specialty Module U0018.
The following specialty modules are considered assets
U0068 A or B – Perform Trackless Haulage U0089 – Operate Mechanized Jumbo Drill U0091 – Operate Haul Truck Previous experience operating a jackleg and stoper is considered an asset.
Minimum of five (5) years of underground development experience
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and efficient work environment. Strong understanding of underground mining practices, safety procedures, and operational requirements.
