About The Role Canadian Blood Services is looking for Regular Part-Time Transplant Services Program Coordinator to join our dynamic Stem Cells Team .
In the role of Transplant Services Program Coordinator, you will provide confidential coordination and support to Canadian Blood Services Stem Cell Registry stakeholders (internal and external), including international stem cell registries; transplant centers (Canadian/International) and stem cell collection sites. This role reports directly to the Supervisor, Transplant Services.
Formula for success
- Leveraging your excellent organizational skills, you will manage International donor requests for hematopoietic stem cell donation with international registries on behalf of Canadian patients. You will also manage each step of process from receipt of the initial request through to donor clearance, collection, product transport and infusion of product.
- You will oversee additional testing requests from Canadian transplant centres and international registries for Canadian and international stem cell donors and cord blood units.
- Drawing from your interpersonal skills, you will promote and facilitate effective stakeholder relationships both for internal and external customers.
- Using your brand focused mindset, you will foster and promote a positive public image of the Canadian Blood Services Stem Cell Registry.
- You will provide subject matter expertise and participate in working groups to ensure continuous improvement.
- Utilizing your great attention to detail, you will ensure concise documentation is completed using SAP based IT database - Stem Cell National System Solution.
- You will manage electronic/other data, as related to transplant services including updating shared/working directories/files/repositories, as required.
- Provide training, support and mentorship to the stem cell registry team and external customers.
- Capable of working in a highly regulated environment.
- Ability to support the after-hours on call team on a rotational basis.
- Requirement to carry a cellular phone to support the after hours on call team.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution preferably in science/health related field of study.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
- Technical skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and SAP.
- Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Advances organizational skills and the ability to prioritize daily workload to meet urgent and rapidly changing timelines.
- Ability to manage coverage for the team during scheduled and non-scheduled absences if required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team building and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
- Ability to work under pressure under pressure.
- The ability to exercise judgment, tact, diplomacy, and strict confidentiality are mandatory.

- Shift/hours - Monday to Friday days, 2 shifts one week, and 3 shifts the next week, 7.5 hours a day.
