About This Location:

Our Home Office at 2 Jane Street is located in the heart of Bloor West Village in Toronto, just steps away from Jane Subway station. The position is in-office, five days per week.

About This Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Administration within the Funeral Service Centre of Excellence, the Funeral Service Administrator supports funeral homes across Western Canada and Quebec by providing procedural training, systems support, and financial monitoring. This role helps ensure branches complete administrative and operational tasks accurately and consistently, supporting overall administrative excellence.

We are looking to fill this position with a qualified, action-oriented and self-motivated individual who can prioritize and handle multiple demands simultaneously.

Salary**:** $40,773 - $58,248

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Minimum grade 12 education with 3-5 years of administrative office experience; Arbor funeral home experience is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver administrative training and support
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
  • Intermediate computer skills; MS Office suite
  • French language skills are considered an asset
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative procedural and process training and support to funeral home staff in Western Canada and Quebec branches.
  • Answers branch queries regarding contract fulfillments, payments and miscellaneous adjustments.
  • Audits funeral and financial reporting to ensure compliance; provides corrective measures and delivers training as required.
  • Addresses and responds to queries from Arbor business partners by reviewing, investigating and correcting contract and financial discrepancies.
  • Conducts monthly SAP Concur Visa audits to ensure accurate reporting, receipting and approvals.
  • Processes banking, inter-branch payments, rewrites, credits and transfer payments, write-offs and adjustments on funeral accounts and completes journal entries on behalf of funeral homes and finance partners.
  • Audits Client Advance reports to ensure correct coding and reviews documentation for discrepancies or omissions.
  • Reconciles petty cash reports for submission to Accounts Payable.
  • Monitors monthly ageing reports as part of the overall collections of overdue accounts.
  • Collaborates with the Funeral Service Centre of Excellence Training & Education team on the creation and delivery of training of administrative processes and procedures.
  • Supports the Funeral Service Centre of Excellence and various home office partners with the completion of special projects or other duties as required.
