Position(s): Tools & Parts Coordinator (full-time, temporary)
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday (7:00AM – 3:30PM)
Location: Acheson, Alberta
Forbes Bros Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Tools & Parts Coordinator (full-time, temporary to join our Fleet Team in Acheson, Alberta. This role will require the successful candidate to work out of our Acheson shop supporting our Tools & Parts Manager.
As the Tools & Parts Coordinator (full-time, temporary), is responsible for ensuring all operational tool requirements are consistently met by providing safe, certified, and cost-effective tooling solutions. This role will confirm availability, inspection, and maintenance of tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while supporting the operational needs of powerline construction projects. By effectively managing inventory, certifications, and costs, the Tools and Parts Coordinator will play a key role in maximizing efficiency, promoting safety, and enabling crews to execute work reliably and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
- Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure tooling requirements are consistently met, and partner with Operations and Estimating to understand project schedules and adjust tooling needs accordingly
- Work with operations to understand their requirements for Magazines and implodes and create safe/secure plan for their transport
- Analyze tooling performance and provide recommendations for timely replacements or upgrades to enhance cost-efficiency and operational reliability
- Monitor tooling usage and maintain accurate, up-to-date inventories across the region through the Milwaukee ONE-Key Program
- Ensure all inspections and certifications are current and develop a proactive strategy for annual renewals
- Assist in coordinating logistics and managing the movement of tooling and parts between project locations as needed to support operational requirements
- Complete cross border paperwork and shipping of tooling
- Manage vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
- Uphold all Forbes Bros. policies, procedures, and core values in daily operations
- Produce a list of tooling and parts assets for Property Tax calculations, as required
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in construction tool & parts/inventory management, is required
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations, cross border shipping (paperwork, HS Codes, Customs) and logistics/LTL hauling, is required
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License, is required
- Proficiency in MS Work and Excel, is required
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to recognize and identify concerns and implement correct hierarchy of action
- Ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to engage both internal and external clients
