We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead and advance EH&S and sustainability programs at our site. This role provides direction, technical guidance, and oversight to ensure compliance, continuous improvement, and a strong culture of care and accountability.
The successful candidate will manage the site’s ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems, coordinate audits and training, and ensure effective reporting of EH&S and sustainability performance data into the Corporate EH&S system.

Your Experience Should Include:
- Post-secondary education in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or other related discipline.
- 7-10 years of progressive EH&S experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing ISO 14001 and 45001 systems.
- Working knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety legislation and compliance programs.
- CRSP/CSP, IH or ROH Designation preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Procedure Development and Management
- Develop, recommend, implement, and communicate EH&S policies and programs, establishing goals to meet site, corporate, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain and continuously improve site EH&S procedures, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) requirements.
Training and Employee Engagement
- Develop, organize, and deliver EH&S training programs across the site.
- Provide safety orientation for new employees and general safety training for contractors.
- Coordinate activities of the site EH&S Committee to promote engagement and continuous improvement.
- Promote and sustain a generative safety culture where employees are empowered to identify hazards, speak up, and actively participate in continuous improvement.
System Management, Audits, and KPIs
- Lead the registration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
- Participate in and oversee all internal and external audits of plant EH&S systems.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Program, GMPs, FSMA, FEMAS, and other relevant food and feed safety standards.
- Track, report, and analyze EH&S and sustainability KPIs and incident data, supporting corporate reporting requirements and sustainability targets.
- Participate in monthly Corporate EH&S Leadership meetings, providing site updates and sharing best practices.
Incident Management and Compliance
- Lead or participate in root cause analyses (RCA) and other process improvement initiatives following incidents or near-misses.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including recordkeeping, reporting, and response to internal and external concerns.
- Arrange for collection and analysis of samples to monitor environmental quality and ensure compliance.
- Lead emergency management response planning, including various drills and coordination with local emergency services.
- Manage and respond to environmental, safety, and health concerns, ensuring proper investigation, documentation, communication, and resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
Site-Specific Operations and Continuous Improvement
- Oversee third-party security contracts and related site activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and advocate for 5S and other operational excellence initiatives.
- Support site and corporate sustainability initiatives, ensuring programs and data contribute to corporate sustainability targets.
- Part of onsite management team, participating in site decision making.
- Maintain positive relationships with government agencies, employees, and external stakeholders.
