Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic  High Prairie, Alberta

Our Heavy Duty Mechanics keep us running fierce.  They troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair mobile equipment to keep the mill running and keep it running safely. We are looking for a  Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic  at  High Prairie Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Division , located in  High Prairie, Alberta . Our mill has undergone an exciting major rebuild and   modernization including the commissioning of a new continuous press which  makes us the most modern mill in North America .    

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: 

  • Experience working as a  Heavy Duty Mechanic  with a  valid Interprovincial ticket.
  • Strong  troubleshooting and   problem-solving  skills.
  • Ability to read  blueprints, diagrams and schematics  and consistently  follow work   processes and procedures.
  • You use your knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for  improvement and cost-savings .
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work   independently and with a team .

In this role you will:

  • You use your knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, lubricate and perform maintenance  work on a variety of mobile equipment such as telehandlers, aerial work platforms, loaders, and forklifts.
  • You tackle equipment issues before they arise through preventative and predictive maintenance  programs.
  • You put safety first  as you  operate hoisting and lifting devices  to position machinery and parts during the  assembly, installation, set-up and repair of mobile equipment and machinery .
  • When problems arise, you put your troubleshooting skills to work to  detect,  investigate, diagnose, and repair irregularities and malfunctions .
