Part-Time Food Service Associate (Pizza Pizza)

Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. is currently looking forPart-Time Food Service Associate to join our team!

This position will predominantly be performing associate duties at our Pizza Pizza outlet.

The duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Bake/cook outlet items as per specifications and ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion

control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.

  • Maintain and safely operate high volume cooking equipment including but not limited to

commercial ovens, dough sheeter, pizza oven, grills, deep fryers, panini press, coffee and tea

brewers, espresso machines, juice makers, etc.

Additional duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide fast and efficient service while maintaining exceptional customer experience at

Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre and Food Service Outlets.

  • Operate cash register and accurately follow Cash Handling Procedures.

  • Demonstrate and maintain strong product knowledge and use suggestive selling

(upselling) for each transaction in Food Service Outlets.

  • Accurately process food and drink orders and prepare them in a timely manner in

compliance with operational requirements (speed of service).

  • Assist with catering setups/teardowns in allocated spaces, displaying all food products,

small wares and cleanup of allocated spaces as needed; Assist with receiving deliveries,

and stocking the storage room as required.

  • Understand and Follow Food Safety, Workplace Sanitation and Personal Hygiene

practices, and comply with internal/external quality and safety standards, rules, policies

and procedures.

  • Follow directions of the Team Lead, Supervisor or Manager.

  • Comply with all legislative requirements (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human

Rights Code, Employment Standards, Act as well as company policies and procedures

etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate(s) will possess the following qualifications:

  • Valid Food Handlers Certification (as a condition of employment).

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Be highly organized with strong planning and time management skills.

  • Willingness to learn and ability to follow provided directions.

Three professional references will be required, and the successful candidate(s) will be required

to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.

HOURS OF WORK

Hours will vary depending on scheduling requirements; the successful candidate(s) must be able

to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

HOURLY WAGE

$17.60 per hour

About Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre

The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is the largest sport new-build for the Pan Am Games and the largest investment ever in Canadian amateur sport history.

The Aquatics Centre includes two internationally sanctioned 10-lane, 50-metre pools (including bulkheads); a 5-metre deep diving tank with 3-metre, 5-metre, 7.5-metre and 10-metre platforms; and dry-land dive training facilities.

It doubles the number of Olympic-sized pools in the Greater Toronto Area. Moreover, with its other features, the Centre is the sole aquatics facility in the region that meets the latest international competition standards and will be the first facility with the required warm-up pool.

The Field House features flexible gymnasium space for training and competition, as well as an indoor recreational track and fitness area with cardio and weightlifting facilities.
