The Maintenance Enforcement Office is looking for a self-confident, organized, and highly motivated individual to perform the duties of Enforcement Clerk. As the successful candidate, you will monitor and administer a caseload of approximately 2,000 family support files on which regular payments have been established.
If payments are not made regularly, you will take action to encourage payors to bring their account current or return the file to an investigator for enforcement action. You will organize and prioritize incoming correspondence and legal documents. You will also respond to a large volume of inquiries, including requests for information about legislation and the eligibility of dependents. You will interview clients to obtain or provide information. You will also maintain financial records, prepare adjustments on accounts, and provide instructions regarding the postings and distribution of payments in special circumstances. You will prepare affidavits and statements which may be used as court evidence.
The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver timely and appropriate client service while maintaining a heavy workload and work with a clientele under economic and social stress. You will also have the ability to actively listen and discuss options, explain statutes, policies and procedures related to family support issues and apply them to individual situations, and clearly and concisely communicate information verbally or in writing on legal issues to clients, lawyers and the general public. You will also have the ability to prioritize and organize so that deadlines are met, work independently and as a team member to meet the needs of clients and co-workers, and accurately input, update and retrieve information using an automated system or word processing.
The successful candidate will be empathetic and patient, and also tactful and diplomatic.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the justice system and various levels of court; basic accounting procedures; and legal terminology and documents.

Hours of Work**:** A - SGEU Office 36 - one day off every two weeks
Criminal Record Check Requirement**:** The successful candidate shall be subject to a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment
