Reporting to the Program Manager of MDRD, the Process Leader is an advanced leadership role that coordinates the innovative transformation of reprocessing services at THP. The role is accountable to define and provide oversight for reprocessing process to facilitate adherence to practice standards and enable clinical standardization for the delivery of safe, effective, efficient quality patient centered care.
This individual assists with establishment of MDR processes to enable a structured, standard approach across all sites that promotes and complies with legislation and applicable standards (Accreditation, CSA, PIDAC, ORNAC, etc.), for reusable medical devices requiring high level disinfection and/or sterilization. Manages and leads knowledge transfer, shares and instructs utilization of MDR best practices with internal and external partners. Analyzes data, trends incidents and recommends strategies to reduce risk of harm. Manages the site-specific MDR practice audit process and provides recommendations to optimize performance and implement leading practices.
The Process Leader monitors and reports on progress, problems and solutions related to MDR process/practices with stakeholders and escalates issues as appropriate. Collaborates with other Reprocessing Services team member to prioritize, coordinate and integrate workload.
Key Qualifications
- Qualification from a recognized College/University is preferred.
- Preference will be given to those candidates who have already attained Certification from CSA or IAHCSMM
- Mandatory certification will be a condition of employment for this position and must be completed within 6 months of employment.
- A minimum of 3 years in MDRD leadership along with a proven track record of competency.
- Previous Reprocessing Education and Instructional experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma Training is an asset.
- Previous experience writing SOP’s is preferred.
- Working knowledge of current CSA and Accreditation Canada Standards.
- Extensive knowledge of instrument tracking systems and data management
- Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point with ability to learn other software where required.
- Knowledge and experience with the WHMIS required.
- Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis and contributing factors is preferred.
- Ability to lead Quality Improvement Projects involving multiple stakeholders is preferred.
