What You’ll Be Doing Simplii Financial is transforming how millions of Canadians manage their money and the Digital Experience and Design team at Simplii, is at the heart of transforming how our customers interact, making a tangible impact on digital experiences.
As an integral member of Simplii’s User Experience and Design team, reporting to the Senior Director, the Senior Manager, UX Research will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of client experiences. The Sr. Manager UX Research drives the design and execution of research initiatives including usability testing, surveys, concept validation, A/B tests, and diary studies to deliver actionable insights. In this role, you will champion evidence-based decision-making, and continuously optimize UXR operations, processes, and methodologies.
At Simplii, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How You’ll Succeed
- Research Execution - Design and execute a mix of qualitative and quantitative studies: usability testing, surveys, concept validation, A/B tests, diary studies, etc. Ensure research rigor aligns with strategic business objectives. Use Maze and Alida (or equivalent tools) to run remote tests, analyze data, and present insights. Develop and run our insider program—recruiting and managing a panel of engaged clients for ongoing feedback cycles. Leveraging expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods, combined with hands-on experience in managing insider panels, will ensure ongoing feedback cycles and high-impact outcomes.
- Research Leadership - Define research priorities and allocate resources to align with strategic goals. Manage, mentor, and scale a team of UX researchers to deliver consistent, high-impact insights.
- Collaboration & Influence - Partner with product, design, analytics, content, and strategy teams to ensure research is embedded early and often. Translate findings into clear, compelling recommendations that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Lead workshops, co-design sessions, and insight-sharing forums to bring stakeholders along.
- Operations & Strategy - Build scalable research infrastructure: participant recruitment systems, governance, documentation, knowledge repositories. Advocate for evidence-based decision-making and raise research literacy across the organization. Continuously optimize tools, process, and methodology to improve throughput, rigor, and impact.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate 7+ years of work experience in UX, product, or applied research roles, ideally in digital/tech contexts.
- You can demonstrate 2+ years of work experience in a leadership or management role overseeing research teams.
- You have a degree (or advanced diploma) in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Behavioral Science, or related field.
- You are comfortable executing both qualitative and quantitative methods (usability tests, surveys, experiment design, statistical analysis, etc.) with hands-on experience with Maze, Alida, or similar research & survey platforms.
- You have proven experience building or managing an insider / customer panel / opt-in research community.
- You can have excellent data synthesis and storytelling skills, able to present insights clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
