About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Audience Development, you will develop best-in-class, data-driven social and digital media strategies and campaigns (across paid, owned and earned) for our priority programs and brands. You’ll also work closely with our sales team on monetization opportunities, and our production team on creating evergreen and branded content.

The right candidate excels in strategic planning, has excellent verbal and written skills, enjoys working with cross-functional teams, a knack for research, and strong creative abilities in organic and paid social. You have a passion for social content in entertainment, food and home verticals, and enjoy creating, building and being part of a dynamic team and industry.

You will contribute by:

  • Manage the content creation output across assigned channels working closely with other stakeholders.

  • Manage content strategy for portfolio across Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and additional identified emerging platforms.

  • Oversee social campaigns for the portfolio in strategy, asset production, output and budget.

  • Perform research on current benchmark trends, audience preferences and conduct social media audits at regular intervals to support a consistent optimization strategy and to inform content creation.

  • Manage communication, strategy, design, execution and budget for any external production outputs across portfolio.

  • Lead new initiatives to promote brands across portfolio and drive viewership of shows across platforms.

  • Develop and lead vision of the over-arching digital strategy to meet set business objectives, including leading updates of websites and newsletters across brands.

  • Oversee Strategists, Community Managers, and Content Creators, providing ongoing coaching & development.

  • Manage relationships of social media team with stakeholder departments and key social platform representatives, ensuring streamlined workflows and positive relations.

  • Manage advertising and client budget allocations, overseeing management of allocated marketing and agile budgets.

  • Research, develop and produce unique and creative ideas for social sales executions.

  • Provide an exceptional level of internal and external client service as it relates to branded content.

  • Contribute to thought leadership opportunities with our managed services business and business development opportunities.

  • Oversee all branded content post-reporting, insights, key learnings, delivered to client as it related to social & portfolio.

  • Participate in and lead brainstorms and pitch sessions for marketing initiatives, evergreen opportunities and client proposals.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience managing large social audiences and driving social performance.

  • Portfolio required highlighting work that demonstrates proven success in growing audiences, including examples of campaigns with measurable impact on reach, engagement, and/or conversion.

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance social strategy, content development, audience insights, and performance optimization.

  • 3+ years experience with team management, coaching and motivating a team.

  • Demonstrated expertise in data-driven social media strategy and execution.

  • Deep understanding of various platform algorithms and social analytics.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional thought leadership – can rally several stakeholders around an idea and see it through from inception to execution.

  • Understanding of digital marketing principles, including SEO, GEO, driving viewership to websites and newsletters.

  • In-depth knowledge of established and emerging social platforms (and how they can be utilized to the benefit of brand and business).

  • A clear understanding of the Canadian entertainment industry, as well as emerging trends in TV, social, and digital.

  • Experience in social media planning / buying across paid, earned, and owned channels.

  • Experience in content creation, optimization and adaptation in nimble industry or space.

  • Develop a vision and over-arching social strategy to meet set business objectives.

  • Deep understanding of social data, digital and social analytics, and a 10,000 ft view of the social landscape.

  • Previous experience with paid social, including branded content.

  • Strong communication skills with businesses and consumers.

  • Creative sensibility, team player and positive attitude.

  • Strategic thinker with good business acumen and strong long-term planner.

  • Ability to react quickly and with a sense of urgency & time management.
